Meet Your Team

Hi there! It's Ann and Gina, just two neighbors who became fast friends and bonded over endless chats about all things womanhood (often over a glass or two of wine) ~ relationships, mamahood, our jobs, health, what's going well for us, and what the biggest hurdles seem to be for ourselves and the women we serve. What we found was so much more than we expected. We kind of completed each other. We know how cheesy that sounds, but what we were missing with our clients, the other seemed to fill seamlessly. So began our dream world chats about how amazing it would be to blend our two specialties and help women in a more well rounded, complete, and convenient way. It's crazy how the universe aligns and opportunities present themselves in the best of times. Dreams are becoming a reality and we are thrilled to begin this Moxy Strong journey together and with you.

I have been a group fitness instructor since 2010 but fitness and being surrounded by strong women has always been a part of my life.  I played many different sports as a child and ended up playing collegiate soccer at West Virginia. Being a part of a team is in my blood and I have always found that when you have a group of supportive women you have a much better chance of achieving your goals.

I am all about finding a balance in life with fun and health. I find that enjoying your workout has a big part in staying healthy, strong and wanting more.  I make sure to change up the workouts to not only keep you interested, but to give you a full body workout to keep you strong in our day to day activities.

I live in Encinitas with my husband and 3 boys. In my free time, I love playing pickleball, going to concerts, and watching sports. I am so excited to share my love of fitness and build a community of awesome women through Moxy Strong.

I am the proud owner of a "Moxy Mindset" (a growth mindset, with a little flair).  Believe it or not, it wasn’t always this way. I was not always nice to my body or myself. When I was a teenager, my dad died of cancer which shook my world and life still went on around me somehow. I didn’t have the tools to handle the stress and trauma. I did believe I had to get back into life, “fake it” and move on. I sabotaged myself in many ways because of that attitude. The choices I made is what ultimately lead to my health decline. I was diagnosed a few years later with Lupus, an autoimmune disease. I was in a bad place. I was a collegiate athlete and had to make the difficult choice to quit.  I was told there was no cure, and that I would be reliant on heavy, strong medications to have a good quality of life the rest of my life.

I was NEVER told or taught about the impact of stress, diet, activity and other healthy behaviors and the positive impact it could have on my future. So I started on my own healing journey, which included all facets of healthy living. It became a passion, a study, a calling. I knew there had to be a better way. I am still in awe of my young self making such wild decisions. In fact, within a few short years, I was living symptom free and have been living my best life ever since!

I became a Certified Wellness Coach to help others achieve their fullest potential by believing and investing in themselves. I love what I do and each life that I can positively impact is my greatest joy of all!

I am full of gratitude. I live in the most beautiful place (Encinitas) with my husband and my two kids. I enjoy quality time with my loved ones and friends, being outside in nature, playing pickleball, eating delicious foods, reading, and learning in whatever ways I can.
